Terras de Iria covers the town council of Rois, Padrón and Dodro. It concerns to the well-known Comarca del Sar. These lands that already woke up the Romans’ interest, offer the visitor a rich cultural, ethnographical, patrimonial, natural and gastronomical heritage.
In Terras de Iria el Camino de Santiago was born, after the arrival to the old port of Iria Flavia of the body of the Apostle Santiago.
In these lands impregnated with Saint James culture, lived Galician authors of the size of Rosalia de Castro and the Nobel Prize Camilo José Cela.
The fertility of the area does that we are a gastronomical reference thanks to the famous Pimientos de Herbón, in addition to lodging also important ecosystems like the Brañas de Laíño, one of the biggest wetlands of Galicia.
